Season opens for Caledon Chamber Concerts

Caledon Chamber Concerts opens its 11th season on Saturday, October 26, 2013 with a concert by the Reiner Duo. The Reiner Duo comprises cellist Elizabeth Dolin and violinist Laurence Kayaleh. Ms Dolin has earned a solid reputation as one of Canada’s finest cellists, in demand as a recitalist throughout Canada and the United States, and as soloist with major Canadian orchestras. She is Assistant Professor of Cello at McGill University, as well as Professor of Cello and Chamber Music at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.

Ms Kayaleh has performed as soloist in such prestigious centres as Paris, Brussels, Zürich, Tokyo, Washington, Cleveland, Saint Louis, Sofia, Montréal, Bern, Caracas, Moscow, Modena and Geneva. She has appeared with many distinguished orchestras, including the Zürich Tonhalle, the Russian National Orchestra, the National Symphony (Washington), Orchestre Lamoureux (Paris), Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and the major orchestras of Cleveland, Saint Louis, Caracas (Simon Bolivar), Basel and Mexico City. Ms Kayaleh is a professor of violin and chamber music at the Université de Montréal.

The programme will include J. S. Bach’s Suite #1 for unaccompanied cello, J.S. Bach’s Chaconne for unaccompanied violin and duo works for violin and cello by Ravel and Kodály.

The concert takes place at St. James’ Anglican Church, Caledon East at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students 16 years and younger and may be purchased at Forster’s Book Garden, Howard the Butcher and BookLore. Season tickets will also be available at the concert for $120.
